The short version

  • We collect what you give us (name, work email, brand website and the product you send us) so we can send your snapshot and talk with you.
  • Snapshots and monitoring use public marketplace listing data. We don’t need access to your accounts for either.
  • We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use advertising trackers.
  • You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time.

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how MapDelta (“we”, “us”) handles information when you visit our website, request a free snapshot, or use our MAP monitoring and enforcement services (the “Services”).

If you are a client, the written agreement between your company and MapDelta also governs how we handle data we process for you. Where that agreement conflicts with this policy, the agreement controls.

Information you share with us may be processed in the United States and in other countries where we and our service providers operate.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

  • Snapshot requests: your name, work email, brand website and, if you choose to share them, a product and its MAP price.
  • Client onboarding: your MAP policy, product catalog, pricing, authorized reseller lists and contact details for your team.
  • Correspondence: anything you include when you email or talk with us.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical data when you visit, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and the time of the request. We use it to keep the site running and secure.

Account access (Full enforcement and Channel programme only)

If we find genuine intellectual property infringement (such as counterfeits, copied images or trademark misuse), you may add us as a Brand Registry user with limited permissions so we can report it. We use that access only to perform the Services you have asked for. We never report a low price alone as infringement.

3. Public listing data

To find listings below a brand’s MAP, we collect publicly available information from marketplaces and websites, including product listings, advertised prices, seller or storefront names, and screenshots used as evidence. On some plans we also research who operates an anonymous storefront using publicly available sources.

With a client’s approval, we may make test purchases from sellers to check where stock comes from, recording lot and expiry codes and packaging details. A test purchase gives us the information a seller provides to any buyer, such as business name, shipping origin and invoice details.

Seller information is usually business information. Where a seller is an individual, we process it only to monitor and enforce our clients’ pricing policies, and we share it only with the client whose policy is involved.

4. How we use information

  • To prepare and send your free snapshot.
  • To provide the Services: monitoring, verifying below-MAP listings, sending policy notices on your behalf with your approval, and reporting.
  • To respond to your questions and send information about the Services you have asked for.
  • To operate, secure and improve our website and Services.
  • To meet legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

If you request a snapshot, we may follow up by email about it and our Services. You can ask us to stop at any time.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only:

  • With service providers who help us run our business, such as website hosting, form handling, email and document storage. They may use it only to provide services to us.
  • With the relevant client, in the case of seller and listing data collected for their enforcement program.
  • With marketplaces, when we file a complaint or report on a client’s behalf and the client has authorized it.
  • With a client’s legal counsel, when the client asks us to coordinate on formal action.
  • For legal reasons, when required by law or to protect our rights, our clients or others.
  • In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, subject to this policy.

6. Cookies and third-party services

Our website does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Its fonts are served from our own website, not from a third party.

If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy first.

7. Retention

We keep snapshot requests and related correspondence for as long as needed to follow up and for our business records, and generally no longer than 24 months after our last contact with you. We keep client data for the length of the engagement and as set out in the client agreement, after which we delete or return it unless we must keep it by law.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect information, including access controls and encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, including California and other US states with privacy laws, you may have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we hold about you and how we use it.
  • Get a copy of it.
  • Ask us to correct or delete it.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we don’t do either).
  • Not be treated differently for using these rights.

To make a request, email ayman@mapdeltahq.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law. You may use an authorized agent to make a request for you.

10. Children

Our website and Services are for businesses and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will take reasonable steps to let clients know.
